Where to go for a mountain hike from Zawoja? Not just to Babia G贸ra! The surrounding mountain ridges offer kilometers of beautiful scenic trails accessible to everyone!
During a long weekend vacation, we were in Zawoja. Taking advantage of the beautiful summer weather, we walked along the nearby trails. We didn't expect wild crowds like in Zakopane, but the emptiness on the mountain paths surprised us a bit... We found the answer on friendly websites and groups: it seems that all the tourists in the area at that time were "checking off" Babia G贸ra.
Zawoja and its surroundings: trails with a view of Babia G贸ra
We hike in the mountains for various reasons, which are not appropriate to discuss here (everyone surely has their own set of answers), but certainly not just to "check off" mountains. That's why on this beautiful August weekend, we decided NOT TO GO TO BABIA G脫RA (there will be time for that too - take a look at the end of the article), but rather these trails in the vicinity of the Queen of the Beskids, which we highly recommend to you! Beautiful views, and along the way, priceless peace and quiet...
From Zawoja to Ja艂owiec
It's a forest trail, not very demanding - of course, with a view of Babia G贸ra! It's just a shame that the private shelter "W murowanej piwnicy" in Opaczne suspended its operations...

Magurka (Kolisty Gro艅) and Zygmunt贸wka on Klekociny Pass
On this trail, we only met a few people. The trail is mainly through the forest, but on the ridge path, there are frequent openings with views... you know, of which mountain :) In Zygmunt贸wka, the host treated us to delicious roasted sausage and tea - besides us, there was no one else here. Attention! Recently, Zygmunt贸wka only accepts organized groups (it functions as a guesthouse, not a tourist station), it has even disappeared from the newest tourist maps.

Waterfall on Mosorny Potok and Mosorny Gro艅
The forest trail is quite steep, but along the way, there is a beautiful waterfall on Mosorny Potok and the possibility of a peaceful walk along the ridge towards Cyla Hala 艢mietanowa.

A chairlift goes up to the top of Mosorny, and there is also a restaurant with the most beautiful view of the Queen, as well as a brand new observation tower!
Mosorny Gro艅 - observation tower, trails, attractions
Mosorny Gro艅 (1047 meters above sea level) is a peak in the Polic Range, at the foot of Babia G贸ra. The new observation tower offers beautiful panoramas of the surrounding ranges: Babia G贸ra, Polic Range, Ja艂owiec Range. On a clear day, you can even see the Tatra Mountains! ...
Hala Krupowa and Polica
Right near the shelter at Hala Krupowa, it was indeed a bit crowded, but on the rather steep trail from Skawica (known as Gibasowa Droga) and on Polica itself, it was much quieter. We only encountered 2 people on the neighboring Okr膮glica.
