Tatras for Older Children - Tatra Trails for Older Kids
You have already conquered the first trails and are looking for bigger challenges, but not yet ready for steep climbs, chains, and charging over precipices? Here is our list of Tatra trails for children with a slightly higher level of difficulty.
We have sorted the trails from easier ones (at the beginning of the article) to more physically demanding ones (towards the end of the article).
1. Conquering Gęsia Szyja (Goose Neck)
The trail to Gęsia Szyja does not pose major technical difficulties, as we reach the peak by climbing wooden stairs - only during rainfall or snowfall, the steps may become slippery. Nonetheless, the ascent is not easy - the stairs seem endless, but the views make up for the effort.

2. Hala Stoły in Kościeliska Valley
Hala Stoły is a scenic meadow with old shepherd huts. Although the approach is technically easy, it requires some level of fitness. From the meadow, you can see the peak of Giewont, which from this perspective, does not resemble a sleeping knight.

3. From Zakopane to Sarnia Skała (Deer Rock)
Sarnia Skała is also one of the easier ascents to a peak in the Polish Tatra Mountains. Moreover, the trail starts from Zakopane itself, making it easily accessible. We can reach Sarnia Skała from the side of Biały Potok Valley or Strążyska Valley, and you can also go up one valley and return through the other.

4. From Kuźnice to Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy (Black Pond)
We start the route in Kuźnice - about 3.5 km from Zakopane, near the lower station of the cable car to Kasprowy Wierch. We follow the yellow trail, passing by Murowaniec Shelter.

5. To Dolina Pięciu Stawów (Valley of Five Lakes)
The trail leads us through Roztoka Valley - here we have a more physically demanding approach to the mountain hut. However, the views compensate for the effort. For those who have regained their strength after resting at the hut and have the desire to climb higher, we recommend climbing Świstówka and descending to Morskie Oko.

6. From Dolina Pięciu Stawów (Valley of Five Lakes) to Morskie Oko through Świstówka
This is one of the most beautiful trails in the Tatra Mountains! It offers a panoramic view of the High Tatras. The route itself is not technically difficult but requires a good level of fitness.

7. To Morskie Oko through Rusinowa Polana (Rusinowa Glade)
For young adventurers, we recommend reaching Morskie Oko via a slightly longer and slightly more challenging route - through Rusinowa Polana. The effort will be rewarded with the taste of warm oscypek cheese from the shepherd's hut and a sip of żętyca - whey from sheep's milk. Perhaps you will also encounter a flock of grazing sheep here?
