Easy hiking trails in Pieniny
Most of the easy trails start from Szczawnica - it is also the most family-friendly and senior-friendly town in Pieniny. Along the Grajcarek stream that flows through Szczawnica, there is a several-kilometer pedestrian and cycling promenade. You will find ice cream parlors, cafes, benches, and places to relax along the promenade. So, there is plenty of space for walking, resting, and all with a beautiful mountain view!

Here, we also walk through a gorge with steep rocks - the path is wide and compacted. It is an easy and comfortable walking route. Children will surely enjoy easy access to the stream and places to rest. This gorge is much calmer and no less charming than the more popular Homole.

The Palenica summit can be reached from Szczawnica by a chairlift - making it easily accessible, and the ride itself is a fun attraction. On top of Palenica, children will surely enjoy the open educational trail called 'Little Explorers of the Mountains on the Trail of Nature' - you will find large mushrooms, plants, and animals here. From Palenica, you can easily reach the 'Schronisko pod Durbaszką' shelter along the ridge of Małe Pieniny or descend to Szczawnica.
