Palenica

The beginning of the trail is the peak of Palenica - conveniently, attractively, and with a great view, you can reach it by chairlift from Szczawnica. The lower station of the chairlift is located on Nad Grajcarkiem promenade. At the top of Palenica, there is a vast meadow with a playground, a nature educational path, and a gravity slide.

Blue Trail to the Shelter under Durbaszka

The trail offers breathtaking views! It leads us along the ridge of the Small Pieniny Mountains - from here, we have a view of Szczawnica and the panorama of the Tatra Mountains. We pass numerous clearings and benches with resting spots. We can also encounter grazing sheep and take a look at the shepherd's hut along the way.

Wysoki Wierch, 989 m above sea level

The blue trail, leading along the ridge of the Small Pieniny Mountains, bypasses the dome-shaped peak of Wysoki Wierch (the one above the shepherd's hut). It is worth taking a short detour on the yellow trail to reach there. The views from all four sides are truly impressive!

Shelter under Durbaszka

After approximately 2 hours of hiking, we reach the shelter under Durbaszka, where we can rest and gather strength for the return journey.

The shelter is located in the Small Pieniny Mountains, above Jaworki, on the northern slope of Durbaszka. From the shelter, there is a panoramic view of the Beskid Sądecki Mountains. If you are traveling with younger children who may find the round trip challenging, consider staying overnight at the shelter.
