The Valley of Mała Łąka is a short, forested valley leading to Małołącka Glade. It is less known and less crowded, making it a more peaceful place that allows for a closer connection with nature. Although the valley itself is wooded and has limited viewpoints, we quickly reach the vast and beautiful Małołącka Glade - one of the largest and most stunning glades in the entire Tatra Mountains! Here, we can enjoy mountain views, find a place to rest, and have fun. Additionally, we can continue our mountain hike on a relatively easy trail to the highly scenic Przysłop Miętusi!

Getting to the Valley of Mała Łąka - Transportation and Parking

The entrance to the valley is located in the small village of Gronik, approximately 4 km from the center of Zakopane. There is a paid parking lot at the entrance of the valley.

Description of the Trail in the Valley of Mała Łąka

The trail throughout the entire length of the valley is wide, gravel-covered, and gently ascends through the forest - see the photo below. The comfortable path, without large rocks, and the relatively short length of the valley (about 2 km) make it an interesting option for the first mountain hike with younger children. As we walk through the valley, we reach the expansive Małołącka Glade, where we can rest and have a family picnic.

Małołącka Glade

This vast glade was formed in the place of a former post-glacial lake. In the past, there was a wooden shepherd settlement here, and the entire glade was used for grazing sheep. Unfortunately, no shepherd's hut remains to this day. From here, there is a view of Giewont, Mały Giewont, and the cliff of Wielka Turnia.

What's Next?

If we still have the energy for further hiking, we can make a loop - from Małołącka Glade, walk to Drogą pod Reglami (a road under the Regle) and reach the highly scenic Przysłop Miętusi, from where we can descend to the Kościeliska Valley. We managed to complete this loop with preschoolers. From the Kościeliska Valley, we can return to Zakopane or, if we have a car, we can return to the parking lot via Drogą pod Reglami.
