Medium - For young hikers, steep sections possible

This is a loop trail that is beautiful and relatively easy - perfect for preschoolers. Along the way, you will pass expansive meadows where you can take a rest. If you are looking for a trail that will make you feel like you are in the mountains - without asphalt and crowded with tourists, scenic, yet easy enough to hike with younger children - this is one of the more interesting options!

We managed to complete the trail with three- and four-year-old girls, for whom it was their first trip to the mountains, although they had previously gone on longer walks in the city. It's worth bringing a headband and a scarf - we will be walking in exposed terrain, and it may be a bit windy.

Trail Start - Dolina Małej Łąki (Small Meadow Valley)

This is a short, forested, shaded valley with a wide gravel road that has a slight incline. It is comfortable and safe to walk on, even with younger children. This trail leads us to the expansive Małołącka Polana (Małołącka Meadow) - perfect for resting and having a family picnic.

Reaching the Pass

From Małołącka Polana, we enter the black trail that leads to Dolina Kościeliska (Kościeliska Valley). This rocky, forested path goes uphill - it is the most challenging and least enjoyable part of the trail. The stones are large and can be uncomfortable for little feet, and it may be slippery and muddy after rain. Fortunately, this section of the trail is relatively short. When we emerge from the forest, a beautiful view opens up before us - we have reached the pass! It is the Przysłop Miętusi - one of the most beautiful places in the Tatra Mountains.

Path above the Regle to Dolina Kościeliska (Kościeliska Valley)

This is a very scenic trail. The path here is gravel, wide, and sometimes the descents are steeper, making it easy to slip. The trail leads us to an asphalt road - the beginning of Dolina Kościeliska (Kościeliska Valley). In the shepherd's hut located in Dolina Kościeliska, you can buy hot oscypek (smoked cheese) and try żętyca - whey from sheep's milk. At the end of the trail (the beginning of Dolina Kościeliska), there are restaurants, bars, and a bus stop where you can return to Zakopane.
