12. Crooked Forest near Gryfino and Viewing Tower in Widuchowa

The Crooked Forest is a unique place near Gryfino. It is a small but very interesting forest fragment where trees grow in a characteristic, unusual shape. In the Crooked Forest, you will find benches and wooden loungers for resting. The mystery of the unusual tree shapes is not fully known, and the forest sparks much speculation. One theory suggests that the trees were intentionally deformed by humans to obtain the right shape of wood for furniture or boat production in the future. Another theory says that the trees may have been deformed by natural factors such as strong wind or heavy snow when they were young.

Although the Crooked Forest is a really small place, it is definitely worth seeing. Especially since about a 15-minute drive away is the viewing tower on S艂owia艅ska G贸ra near the village of Widuchowa. You climb the terrace by stairs - it is therefore inaccessible for people with strollers.
