This picturesque lake is located on the outskirts of Szczecin in the Zdroje district, within the Bukowa Forest. Its name comes from the beautiful turquoise color of the water - the lake was formed in an old chalk mine. The high calcium carbonate content and light reflecting off the white, chalky bottom give the water a greenish hue. The lake is surrounded by a forest with miles of trails perfect for a family hike.
- There are no food or drink vendors near the lake - bring your own snacks and water.
- Swimming in the lake is prohibited.
- There are forest trails and shaded paths around the lake.
- Parking is available at the end of Kopalniana Street.

Emerald Lake - Trails and Forest Paths
One of the most beautiful trails along the lake is the blue trail - it climbs the rocks surrounding the quarry. The area is wooded, but in some places, you can see the turquoise water through the trees. The trails around the lake are forest paths - rugged and sometimes uphill, so the area is not very suitable for a walk with a stroller.

History
The lake was formed on July 16, 1925 - an underground water flood filled the old limestone and marl mine. It is said that mining equipment is still at the bottom of the lake. A narrow-gauge railway once ran over the concrete bridge by the lake, transporting mined materials. The lake is now 18 meters deep.
