Blue Trail at Emerald Lake in Szczecin

Emerald Lake in Szczecin was created on the site of an old chalk and marl mine, which was flooded by groundwater. When you are at the lake, it's worth taking a walk along the blue trail, which starts at Kopalniana Street. The trail leads us through forest paths up to the top of the rocks surrounding the quarry. It is one of many paths in the forest area.
The local paths are forested with exposed roots and sometimes steep uphill - good for hiking, but not suitable for strollers.
The area is heavily wooded, so don't expect spectacular views, although at times you can see the turquoise surface of the lake from above. However, the walk itself is very pleasant, and in the summer the trees provide blissful shade.
On the opposite side of the lake, there is a descent to a small beach with a wooden bench and a short path right by the lake.
