Nowogard Lake - Swimming Area, Beach, Attractions

Nowogard is one of the few towns in Poland that has a lake right in the city center! Nowogard Lake is just a 5-minute walk from the train station. The lake is surrounded by a park and historic city walls from the 14th century. The area around the lake is a great spot for family outings - there are two playgrounds, park paths with a fountain, wooden loungers, and places for barbecues or bonfires. There is also a convenient walking and biking path around the lake, accessible for strollers!

If the city took better care of the area around the swimming spot, like repairing the wooden piers, the lake could become a real gem of the region. It would be an interesting alternative to the crowded seaside trails and towns during the summer season.

Swimming Area and Beach in Nowogard

The swimming area with a sandy beach is located on the northeastern shore of the lake. During the summer season, the swimming area is supervised by a lifeguard, although there was a season when the city missed the application deadline, and the beach was not supervised - hopefully, this oversight will be avoided in future years! By the beach, there is a large wooden pier and a big water slide - it looked a bit neglected. If you know whether it is operational, please write in the comments :)

Park by the Lake in Nowogard

On the city side, there is a municipal park with asphalt paths, a fountain, and city walls. There are many relaxation spots, barbecue areas, a playground, and you can also watch ducks.

Sarni Las and Path Around the Lake in Nowogard

This is the wildest and most charming part of the lake. We leave the park paths and enter fields and forest. The convenient walking and biking path surrounds the entire lake, is almost 7 km long, and is well-maintained, making it perfect for a family bike trip or a walk with a stroller.
