Gdynia - museums, places, attractions for children

What to do with kids in Gdynia when it's raining or during winter?

Of course, sightseeing! In the city, you'll find many indoor attractions for children, perfect for family days out on bad weather days, allowing you to escape from the scorching sun, or simply adding variety to your family vacation.

Gdynia Aquarium

This is the largest aquarium in Poland! It has 7 thematic zones. You'll see aquatic animals here - fish, reptiles, amphibians, crustaceans. The museum houses numerous aquariums with live animals. You'll encounter dozens of colorful fish, miniature sharks, predatory piranhas and moray eels, anaconda, rays, lumpfish, sea urchins, seahorses, jellyfish, archerfish - fish that "shoot" at insects, razorfish, and fish that can... come out on land! The model of the Baltic Sea basin also made a big impression on us.

Emigration Museum in Gdynia

This modern museum is located in the historic Maritime Station building. The Little Traveler's Room awaits the youngest visitors here, while older ones will embark on a journey through time, learning about the history of Polish emigration in a multimedia way - we "travel" with a typical family from the Subcarpathian region: by wagon from the village to the city, by train from the city to the German port, we board a ship, land on Ellis Island, marvel at New York, and finally arrive in Chicago.

Naval Warfare Museum in Gdynia

Here you'll see equipment from Polish warships: guns, torpedoes, rockets, mines, as well as memorabilia from sunken units. On the second floor, there is an exhibition of historical sailing ships: medieval and modern, Polish and European. With the youngest ones, you can play... find the mice! Museum mice have hidden in various corners of the exhibitions on the ground, first and second floors. From the museum staff, you can get a special "list" of mice, where you mark those found, and then receive a sticker-prize.
