PTTK Shelter at Kudłacze - so close to Krakow that you can visit for an afternoon family walk, organize a bonfire with friends, and at night... watch the stars! There's a big meadow, views, a playground, and in the shelter: warm meals and accommodation. You can drive almost directly to the shelter, making it easily accessible for families with strollers and people with disabilities.

How to Get to the Shelter on Kudłacze Meadow
The easiest way to reach the PTTK Kudłacze shelter is from the "Zakopianka" road: turn towards Pcim, head south following the sign to Kudłacze. A narrow, winding, but asphalt road leads almost directly to the shelter. From marked parking lots on private meadows (a few PLN/day fee), you can reach the shelter via the black trail in 5-10 minutes. The path is asphalt and concrete slabs – you can even bring a stroller or a person with disabilities.
How to Walk to Kudłacze?
You can walk to Kudłacze... even from Krakow (apparently in about 9 hours - we haven't checked yet...). It's closer from Myślenice (11 km via the red trail or 13 km via the green trail through Chełm - but you can take a lift for part of the way).

PTTK Kudłacze Shelter - Attractions and Practical Information
- Charming, cozy shelter is a paradise for families with children. On the vast meadow, besides the great space and mountain views, there's a playground and a pen with chickens and ducks.
- In the shelter, small souvenirs, simple dishes: soups, pancakes, fritters, grilled sausages.
- If you have more time, you can buy a "bonfire set" and roast sausages yourself.
- Organizing a bonfire with friends is worth discussing with the hosts and reserving a spot. And definitely stay for a night (rooms in the main building - shared bathroom, or in a separate building - use the bathroom in the main building).

From the meadow below the shelter, there's a beautiful view to the west and southwest, with Babia Góra as the main feature:

For a wider panorama, it's worth walking a few meters down the black trail towards Pcim ‒ here you can see Szczebel, Luboń Wielki, and the Tatra Mountains on the horizon:

Trails from the PTTK Shelter at Kudłacze
1. From Kudłacze Meadow, it's worth going through Łysina to the astronomical observatory on Lubomir, you have 3 routes to choose from, you can also make a loop to Lubomir through Sucha Polana:

2. Through Sucha Polana, you can reach the top of Kamiennik - about 45 minutes from the shelter down the green trail, on the meadow: a monument to the Home Army, a place for a bonfire, and crocuses in spring!

Sucha Polana on Sucha Pass (710 meters above sea level), near Poręba, is a picturesque and peaceful place between the ridges of the Beskid Wyspowy: Łysina and Lubomir in the south, and Kamiennik in the north. You can organize a family picnic here, have a bonfire... ...
3. Walking the red trail west, you reach Działek, and from there you can head either to Śliwnik and Chełm >>> (green signs, about 2.5 hours one way), or to Krzywicka Góra (yellow signs, about 1.5 hours one way), or continue on the red trail to Uklejna (about 2 hours) and further - to Myślenice.

4. A longer trip will even take you to... Trupielec through Kamiennik:
