The Most Beautiful Walking Trails in Wolski Forest
Wolski Forest is one of the largest forest parks in Poland, with approximately 40 km of walking paths! Below, we present our favorite tracks for hiking in this extraordinary, green heart of Krakow, specially adjusted for tourists from outside Poland.
1. From Orlej to the Kamedułów Monastery
Undoubtedly, this is one of the most scenic trails starting at the edge of Wolski Forest. Near the meadows of the University of Agriculture, you can see sheep grazing, and there is also a view of the bend of the Vistula River. Behind the tree line, the green roofs of the Kamedułów Monastery towers emerge. It's idyllic!

2. From the Zoo to Piłsudski Mound
This is the most popular and wheelchair-friendly route in Wolski Forest. Starting from the Zoological Garden, the Aleja Wędrowników (Wanderers' Alley) is a wide, asphalt path shaded by trees. At the mound, there is a spacious meadow on Sowińiec, with benches for resting and a playground.

3. Wolski Dół and Panieńskie Skały Reserve
Here, you can feel like you're in the mountains - the trail is rugged and truly wild. It leads through a gorge in Wolski Forest, which is a remnant of the former course of the Rudawa River. Along the way, we pass the Panieńskie Skały (Maiden Rocks) - steep, limestone walls and boulders.

4. From Bielany to Piłsudski Mound
Starting from the monastery in Bielany, the wide, asphalt walking path of Aleja Wędrowników leads all the way to the mound. We pass by the scenic Srebrna Góra vineyard, the Na Bielanach meadow, and walk near the Kamedułów monastery.

This charming, forested trail is less crowded for those who want to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the city but are also not afraid of uphill walking. The red trail leading from the Chełm roundabout and bus stop all the way to the mound is a rugged, forest path - definitely worth seeing!
