Nearby: Krakówbeach_access Route in the shade
Approaching Piłsudski Mound through the Panieńskie Skały Reserve is a charming but rugged and uphill forest path accessible on foot or for adventurous cyclists. If you are looking for an easier route (including for strollers), we recommend approaching Piłsudski Mound from the Zoo side.
For those who enjoy hiking, passing through the Panieńskie Skały Reserve will certainly be a fun adventure! So, here it is:
"Panieńskie Skały" Alley
We start the trail at Panieńskie Skały Alley. There is a small car park and a bus stop for the MPK "Panieńskie Skały" line, which can be reached by taking bus 152 from Czyżyny through the center of Krakow. The yellow trail leads us to the Panieńskie Skały Reserve.
As we enter Wolski Forest, we pass a characteristic bridge - the path here, called Wolski Doł, winds through the valley of a former river, which was a left branch of the Rudawa River.
Panieńskie Skały Reserve
We quickly arrive at the Panieńskie Skały Reserve - and here we need to pay attention: at the reserve, we leave the yellow trail and follow the green trail towards Piłsudski Mound.
Panieńskie Skały is a steep limestone rock formation. According to legend, the Norbertine sisters, who escaped from the Tatra Mountains, were enchanted in these rocks. Thanks to this, their enemies could not harm them.
