From Chełm to Piłsudski Mound - red trail in Wolski Forest
Nearby: Krakówbeach_access Route in the shade
This is one of the shorter but also steepest trails on Piłsudski Mound. However, it is very charming and if you enjoy off-road hiking, it is definitely worth exploring!
We start the trail at the roundabout and Chełm bus stop - line 152 from Czyżyny through the center of Krakow stops here.
After arriving at the Chełm bus stop and getting off the bus, we quickly enter the picturesque sidewalk that leads us towards the hill of Wolski Forest. The trail is well marked, and we should not have any major problems following its signs.
Entering the forest
Basically, it becomes natural and... steep right away. The path leads us uphill - however, this trail is not very crowded, so we will most likely enjoy the silence and the surrounding nature.
Characteristic of the trail are patches of long, vivid green grass.
Piłsudski Mound
Soon, we reach the destination of our hike - Piłsudski Mound. On the meadows beneath the mound, we will find many benches and picnic spots where we can rest. From the top of the mound, on a clear day, we can see the Tatra Mountains and even Babia Góra! We can also see Balice Airport from here.
