1. Salt mines in Wieliczka and Bochnia

Wieliczka is a popular tourist destination with very convenient train access. The station is located in the center of a small town - so everything is close by as soon as you get off the train. Even if you don't want to visit the mine, Wieliczka itself can be an attractive place for a trip - there are ruins of a castle that can be visited for free and a large saline graduation tower.

Bochnia is on the route of trains going to Tarnow. The salt mine here is a bit further from the station, but also within about a half-hour walk. The Bochnia salt mine is much more intimate - tourists can enjoy a ride on an underground train:

2. Sosina Reservoir in Jaworzno

This is a fantastic, newly renovated swimming area with sandy beaches and a paved path leading around the reservoir. The reservoir is located near the Jaworzno-Szczakowa station: from the station it is best to get to the reservoir by city bus line 307 (departures every about 20 minutes). There are paddle boats on the reservoir and many wooden piers. The place is perfect for family relaxation.

Here you will find a sandy beach and 3 safe swimming pools (lifeguard supervision) with a depth of 0.8m, and two with a depth of 2.5 meters, as well as a safe beach with a paddling pool for toddlers. The swimming area also has a Rope Park, and for older children a large Tyrolean slide over the reservoir. Entrance to the swimming area is paid. The swimming area is a 17-minute walk from the PKP station in Trzebinia.

A beautiful quarry with turquoise water, walking paths and viewpoints around it, and a large meadow for a family picnic - this is another interesting attraction in Jaworzno. It is located about 3.5 kilometers from the PKP station in Jaworzno Szczakowa - so it is possible, although unfortunately much harder to reach. City buses from the station to Gr贸dek Park depart much less frequently (about every hour), and it's a 45-minute walk from the station.
