Beach, safe pools and paddling pool for toddlers
The flooded quarry - Balaton bathing area is the main attraction of Trzebinia.
Here you will find a sandy beach and 3 safe pools (lifeguard supervision) with a depth of 0.8m, and two with a depth of 2.5 meters, as well as a safe beach with a paddling pool for toddlers. The pool area is mainly in the sun, only over the paddling pool for toddlers a spread material creates a bit of shade. On the premises of the bathing area there are stalls with ice cream, waffles and fast-food dishes.
Lots of shade!
At the unguarded part of the bathing area, we have a lot of trees providing pleasant shade, without any trouble we will find here a place to spread a blanket, have a picnic and rest with the family. Entrance to the bathing area is paid - thanks to which the area is well-kept, cleaned, we have access to toilets, changing table, changing rooms.
Rope park
On the premises of the bathing area there is a rope park for children (one route of medium difficulty level).
Large zip line
The attraction is a zip line stretching over the reservoir. It is double (two parallel lines) - so you can slide down in pairs. Younger children slid down attached to a guardian, on the same line. Even a few years old (5,6 years old) slid down. Incredible emotions! The price for a slide is 35 PLN per person (season 2019).
Looking for fossils
Little geologists will certainly be interested in the ammonite prints found in the reservoir rocks - there are a lot of them here and a keen eye will certainly spot some. We managed to find a few small ammonite specimens in the rocky rubble on the premises of the bathing area. You can read more about ammonites and Jurassic limestone rocks in the article Looking for fossils in Krakow and its surroundings.
Trzebinia and surroundings
Bożniowa Mountain
For those who after a rest by the water like to stretch their legs, we recommend a walk to the nearby Bożniowa hill - a very interesting viewpoint of the area and the city. The route starts at Na Wzgórze street, the walk takes about 20 minutes. Near the hill there are many forest paths for walking.
Walk through the Dulowska Forest
About 3 km from the Market Square in Trzebinia there is an entrance to the Dulowska Forest. If we want to walk from Trzebinia, we recommend going along Kamieniec street (a very quiet, scenic street, at the end a playground) and then along Szembeka street (leads to the forest itself, also quiet and pedestrian-friendly). At the entrance to the forest there is a car park. The paths in the forest are wide, without inclines, comfortable for prams, ideal for a family bike trip. Through the forest and such convenient roads we can get from here to Dulowa and to Wola Filipowska (both towns have railway stations). More information can be found in the description Dulowska Forest.
Market Square in Trzebinia
The Market Square itself is very nice, well-kept, there are gastronomic establishments, unfortunately there are also cars everywhere... There is a lack of space for pedestrians, a pedestrian zone, a place where you can enjoy a walk…
