Bernardine Monastery, Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels and Marian and Passion Sanctuary
The history of the monastery in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska dates back to the beginning of the 18th century, when the owner of these lands, Miko艂aj Zebrzydowski, decided to recreate the layout of the chapels of the Lord's Passion in Jerusalem. Thus, the first Polish "calvary" was created, which quickly became a famous pilgrimage center.
Additionally, in the second half of the 17th century, the cult of the miraculous image of Our Lady of Calvary began (you can find it in the side chapel of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels).
