An easy forest route along the Leśnianka stream valley (also known as "Zimnik") under the Skrzyczne massif. It's perfect for a walk with toddlers, even in a stroller.

Zimnik Valley - parking

At the end of the road (Dolina Zimnika Street in Lipowa Ostre), there are several parking lots - some are paid, but there's also a free one at the forestry office. There's a bus stop called PKS Ostre "Rondo". There are seasonal food stands and a restaurant in the Zimnik Hotel.

We start our walk on a wide asphalt road that runs along the edge of the forest, alongside the stream. It's generally closed to car traffic, except for residents and forestry services. Along the way, we pass a monument to the victims of World War II and a spring (on the right side).

At the junction of forest roads, just past the spring, we turn left - still along the stream (yellow trail). Depending on the time of day, it can be quite sunny here (the road is wide), but we can also find nice shade among the trees.

Zimnik Valley Trail - attractions

The Zimnik Valley has an educational trail with information boards, it leads along a beaten path closer to the stream. If we don't have a stroller with us, we can choose this route instead of the asphalt road (or one way this, and back the other).

Besides, we have typical forest attractions: trees, meadows, and water, such as cascades, bridges, throwing pebbles, jumping to the other side, and in the summer also splashing for cooling off.

There aren't many mountain views - as it's a forest valley - however, the higher we go, the more "windows" open to the surrounding hills.

P.S. Fancy a climb?

From the Zimnik Valley, you can climb up to Malinowska Rock. Yes, it'll be uphill, (so this trail is not for strollers), but little legs slowly, with breaks and the right motivation will manage, and the views will make up for the effort!
