Katowice

When visiting Katowice, be sure to take a walk in Nikiszowiec - a historic, over a century-old workers' settlement. It's a real journey back in time! There are no modern buildings or advertising banners here. One of the most recognizable places in the settlement is the former inn building - a restaurant with guest rooms. The mosaic on it depicts roses, referring to the motif of ribbons that are part of the Silesian folk costume. Allegedly, the choice of such decoration for the building was meant to make the residents of the settlement feel 'at home'.
