The Wanderers' Avenue is a wide asphalt walking trail in Wolski Forest, stretching from the parking lot in Bielany (or the Bielany Klasztor tram stop) to Pi艂sudski Mound. Along the way, we pass by the beautifully located Srebrna G贸ra vineyard, walk near the Kamedu艂贸w monastery, and can also rest on the extensive meadow in Bielany.
Although the road is entirely asphalt and suitable for strollers or bikes, the trail is constantly uphill! So it can be quite tiring with a stroller or bike.
Srebrna G贸ra Vineyard
Picturesquely located at the foot of the Kamedu艂贸w monastery, Srebrna G贸ra Vineyard is one of the largest vineyards in Poland. It refers to the history of grape cultivation in Krakow dating back to the 10th century and the monastery's wine-making traditions. From the vineyard's surroundings, there is a panoramic view of the Vistula River bend, and on clear days, you can even see Babia G贸ra. There is a spacious parking lot at the entrance to the vineyard.
Wanderers' Avenue
Wanderers' Avenue in Wolski Forest is a wide walking and cycling path. However, it has a quite steep incline. The path runs in the dense shade of trees, so even on hot summer days, it is fairly shaded.
Biela艅ska Meadow
This is a vast meadow near the Kamedu艂贸w monastery. Here, you will find benches and picnic shelters, making it an ideal place for a family rest. Festivals and fairs often take place around the monastery, with stalls set up on the meadow.
Kamedu艂贸w Monastery
The Kamedu艂贸w monastery is inhabited by hermits who do not have access to radio and television. The Kamedu艂贸w order is one of the strictest orders in the Catholic Church. The monks are also known for their long beards, which they grow from the moment they enter the hermitage.
The path leading to the monastery is rocky and uphill, making it difficult for strollers. We can only enter the monastery's courtyard, and access to the monastery itself is limited to specific hours for men and a few days a year for women.
Pi艂sudski Mound
Pi艂sudski Mound is a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the surrounding area (such as the airport in Balice) and the mountains. On a clear day, you can see the Tatra Mountains. The mound is surrounded by a vast meadow - Polana na Sowi艅cu. It is the largest meadow in Wolski Forest! There is also a small playground and covered gazebos available.
