Easy route for a short walk, also suitable for strollers, along the Muczne - Tarnawa trail. An additional attraction for fans of the series 'Wataha': the famous Rebrow's cottage!

Attention! In September 2022, the cottage disappeared... It was demolished. Information boards with photos will soon be installed here.

If it weren't for the traffic ban at the entrance to the trail, it would also be a nice route for cycling...

Start of the trail to Rebrow's Cottage

The walking trail starts at the parking lot along the Muczne - Tarnawa route (about 4 km from Muczne, 1.5 km from Tarnawa). There is enough space on the shoulder to park several cars.

A characteristic point is the ruins of a narrow-gauge railway bridge:

The historic platforms also remind us of the former railway line used for transporting wood. We will see them right at the entrance to the trail:

The forest road to the viewpoint is wide and paved - suitable for strollers.

However, if you are going here with a stroller, keep in mind that it is still a mountainous area and the road goes uphill. Despite the short distance, the one-way walk will take about 40 minutes.

On the other hand, the return trip will definitely be easier and shorter, as it is downhill!

Along the way, we pass a overgrown viewpoint overlooking the deep gorge of the Roztoka stream. Perhaps in autumn or winter, there is more to see here?

And here is the promised viewpoint along the road, actually a 'viewing window' with a panorama description (Kopa Bukowska, Krzemie艅, and Bukowe Berdo) and a bench:

Rebrow's Cottage - how to get there?

From the viewpoint along the road, we can reach the famous cottage via a narrow steep path in about 10 minutes, unfortunately, without strollers:

At the top, a table with benches awaits us, offering a similar view of Halicz, Kopa Bukowska, Krzemie艅, and Bukowe Berdo (slightly wider than below):

...and above all, there is a little cottage, also known as 'Rebrow's Shelter'.

This is what it looked like in the summer of 2022:

Rebrow's Cottage - what happened to it?

We don't need to explain to fans of the series 'Wataha', but for those who are not familiar, Rebrow is the main character of the cult series set in the Bieszczady Mountains. The shelter, or 'cottage', was a prop built for the series and remained on the filming location for a long time, much to the delight of its fans.

Until September 2022. What exactly happened to it is not known. Apparently, it was demolished, and some people claim to have seen a burnt-out ruin here...

When entering inside, you could notice that... it didn't have all the walls! This made it easier for the film crew to access it.

Other traces of 'Wataha' in the Bieszczady Mountains

If you were delighted to see Rebrow's Cottage (or just the 'place where Rebrow's Cottage used to be'), you should also visit the Base near Roztoka in Tarnawa Ni偶na - less than 2 km from the parking lot along the trail to the cottage. Here, you will find more traces of the series! The base building actually 'played the role' of a refugee center in the series (the sign is still there), and in the bar, you will find numerous photos, posters, and souvenirs from the creators of the series.

In the area, the nearest dining options can be found in Muczne and at the Base near Roztoka. We also recommend stopping by the charming 'Bobrowisko' area:
