From Bielsko-Bia艂a to Szyndzielnia
Szyndzielnia is one of the peaks of the Silesian Beskids located within the city of Bielsko-Bia艂a. It's no wonder that getting here is so easy and enjoyable!
Additional attractions include a gondola lift, a lookout tower, a mountain lodge, an alpinarium and of course beautiful views - not only of the city, but also of the surrounding Beskids ranges, Babia G贸ra and the Tatra Mountains.
How to get to Szyndzielnia?
You can easily reach the foot of Szyndzielnia by city bus (stops at Szyndzielnia, Karbowa Parking or Armii Krajowej ZIAD), or by car (2 large car parks). Then, the easiest way is to take the gondola lift to Szyndzielnia and walk to the lodge and the peak in 10-15 minutes.
Gondola Lift to Szyndzielnia
The gondola lift will take everyone, as well as strollers and bicycles. At the top station, there is a lookout tower (entrance fee), a bar in the old lift building. From here, it's a 10-15 min walk to the Szyndzielnia PTTK Mountain Lodge, and another 10 min walk to the peak. Szyndzielnia Cable Car >>>
All Trails to Szyndzielnia
Several trails lead from Bielsko-Bia艂a to the peak of Szyndzielnia: the yellow trail from Olsz贸wka Dolna (2:45 hours), or the yellow trail from Dolina Wapienicy, stop at Wapienica Zapora (2:20 hours). The most popular and shortest route follows the blue trail from the lower lift station (only 1:40 hours), but we recommend the loop via the red and green trails through D臋bowiec, which will take about 4-5 hours.
Through D臋bowiec to Szyndzielnia - Red Trail
The red trail through D臋bowiec will take us to the peak of Szyndzielnia in about 2.5 hours. The path is wide, comfortable, and not too steep.
The first section of the trail is the ascent to Polana D臋bowiec, so after the first 20 minutes of walking, we have a chance for a short break: a mountain lodge + playground!
More about the section of the red trail from Olsz贸wka G贸rna to D臋bowiec:
Easy
D臋bowiec from Olsz贸wka G贸rna
From Polana D臋bowiec we continue on the forest road. The peak of Szyndzielnia is often visible between the trees:
Along the way, we will meet the blue trail from the lower lift station, and we will also cross the green trail several times.
Green Trail to Szyndzielnia
The green trail to Szyndzielnia runs almost parallel to the red one.
Unlike the red trail, the path here is narrower and less "trodden". The green trail often cuts across the wide bends of the red trail, making it shorter, faster but also steeper. From the lower lift station to the peak - 2 hours.
We recommend it if you are looking for a quiet, empty trail, or if you like slightly more challenging adventures.
You can also do as we did: ascend the longer and easier red trail, and descend the shorter and more interesting green trail - we recommend it!
Szyndzielnia - Attractions
Just before the lodge, we cross a meadow (in winter, a ski and sled slope). We can turn slightly downwards to the upper lift station - there is a new lookout tower here (entrance fee). From the top, there is a 360-degree panorama of the surroundings, the Beskids ranges, Babia G贸ra and the Tatra Mountains.
The large Szyndzielnia PTTK Mountain Lodge includes a restaurant, souvenirs, and accommodations. Accommodations >>>
...as well as the over a hundred-year-old alpinarium and of course: views (Babia G贸ra, Tatra Mountains).
We can reach the very peak of Szyndzielnia from under the lodge via a comfortable path in about 10 minutes. The peak is forested, so apart from the sign, there's not much to see...
Attention!
The slopes of Szyndzielnia and D臋bowiec are intersected by numerous bike trails. Intersections with hiking trails are marked. Pay attention to both the signs and the fast-moving cyclists!
