Taking a cable car ride to Skrzyczne, the highest peak of the Silesian Beskids, is a trip with beautiful views and a chance to relax at the PTTK shelter.
How to get to Skrzyczne by cable car?
From Szczyrk, you can ride to Skrzyczne on a two-stage cable car from the Central Sports Center (ul. Myśliwska 45, Szczyrk): first to Hala Jaworzyna (920 m above sea level), and then to Skrzyczne itself. Both sections are comfortable, modern (built in 2017), and have covered four-person gondolas.
Throughout the entire journey, you will be greeted with stunning views. At the upper station, there is a viewing terrace (accessible via stairs). Paragliders often take off from here, which adds to the excitement!
What is the Szczyrk Loop?
You can combine the two cable car rides from Szczyrk to Skrzyczne (via Hala Jaworzyna) and to Małe Skrzyczne via Hala Skrzyczeńska >>> to form a loop and purchase a single combined ticket for both lines (four sections of the cable car in total).
By choosing this option, you will have to walk along an easy ridge section from Skrzyczne to Małe Skrzyczne (approximately 2 km, 30 minutes, with a minimal elevation difference of about 60 m). The path is wide and comfortable, but it can be rocky. However, it is manageable even with a stroller with large wheels!

From the Cable Car to Skrzyczne
When you ride the cable car to Skrzyczne, you won't reach the very top (but almost). It's about 100 meters to the PTTK shelter where you can find refreshments, snacks, hot meals, a souvenir stamp, and a beautiful southern-facing viewing terrace!
Under good conditions, you can see not only Lake Żywieckie and Babia Góra but also the Tatra Mountains and the Slovakian ranges of the Low Tatras, the Little Fatra, and the Great Fatra.
From the upper cable car station, there is still a roughly 300-meter uphill walk to reach the summit of Skrzyczne.
At the summit, besides a sign, you will find a mast and a charming bench with stained glass and... a cute little frog (although the views are better at the upper cable car station and near the shelter).
