There is a black trail running at the foot of the Tatra Mountains, along the edge of the Tatra National Park. It starts in Kuźnice, passes by the Wielka Krokiew ski jump, and then leads us through the outskirts of Zakopane all the way to the village of Kiry, at the beginning of the Kościeliska Valley. The trail connects the entrances of many Tatra valleys.

  • Rocky and paved road - suitable for strollers with inflatable wheels
  • It is located outside the national park, so it is free of charge. You can walk with a dog and ride a bike.

The trail is easy, with gentle slopes. It has recently been renovated - the rocky path has been made more solid and leveled, and the bridges with stairs have been replaced with ones that are wheelchair-friendly. The route is diversified with wooden bridges and small rocky waterfalls. Unfortunately, this trail offers limited views - from the trail, we can see Gubałówka and Zakopane.

What are the regle?

Regle, in the local dialect, means "forest growing on a steep slope" - this word made its way into the geographical dictionary, referring to the forested hills in the Tatra Mountains, located on the northern side of the Tatras, at the foot of the higher peaks.

Along the route, there is a shepherd's hut where you can buy fresh oscypek cheese and enjoy żętyca (whey from sheep's milk). The valley leads to the Hala Ornak Mountain Hut.
