Loop: Poręba Górna > Stare Wierchy > Maciejowa > Jasionów > Poręba Górna
This is an interesting proposal for a family hike: along the way, there will be two mountain shelters, several meadows, and several viewpoints, mostly... forests.
Starting point of the loop: Poręba Górna or Jasionów?
The loop of the yellow, red, and green trails passes through two villages: Poręba Górna (a hamlet of Poręba Wielka) and Jasionów. You can start the hike from either of these places, but we recommend Poręba. Why? In Jasionów, there is only one narrow asphalt road. Tourists park their cars "wildly" on the roadside:
In Poręba Górna, there is also no designated parking area, but there is a large island at the final PKS bus stop. You can also park on the roadside of the village road. In addition, there is a grocery store near the bus stop in Poręba.
Direction of the loop: Stare Wierchy > Maciejowa
Here, we have two options: either go to Maciejowa first or Stare Wierchy first. We chose the direction of "first to Stare Wierchy, and return through Maciejowa". This way, we saved the Jasionów - Poręba Górna stretch for the end (it offers much better views in this direction).
Yellow trail from Poręba Górna
When starting from Poręba Górna, we need to follow the asphalt road "towards the mountains" - unfortunately, only the beginning of the green trail is marked, there are no arrows... We walk along the buildings, then turn left towards the stream:
The yellow trail is not difficult: it mostly follows wide paths, there are a few ascents, but they are not very long:

Those interested can also choose the educational trail (marked in green). It also leads to Stare Wierchy, mostly following the yellow trail, with a detour to an additional meadow at one point.
More about the yellow trail (in early spring attire, with crocuses) can be found here:

PTTK Stare Wierchy Mountain Shelter
The first shelter on the loop route is located at the site of a medieval inn... and a hideout for bandits! There is a vast meadow around it, and the shelter offers warm meals, snacks, drinks, and souvenirs.
Red trail: Stare Wierchy - Maciejowa
From the shelter, we return to the red trail: to the meadow where we arrived a moment ago on the yellow trail.
Now we go towards Rabka Zdrój.
The path is a wide forest road, sometimes slightly uphill, sometimes downhill, sometimes flat. The surroundings are mostly forests - don't expect any exceptional views...
The main attraction is avoiding muddy puddles.
After about 1 hour, we will reach another mountain shelter: Bacówka PTTK on Maciejowa.
Bacówka PTTK Maciejowa
...and here, finally, the views await us! To the south, we can see the Tatra Mountains; to the west, Babia Góra; to the north, Luboń Wielki.
In the cozy little shelter, you can enjoy warm dishes, drinks, and souvenirs. There are large picnic meadows all around.
To reach the summit of Maciejowa, we need to walk (or rather descend) another 15 minutes on the red trail towards Rabka.
The views here are not particularly remarkable: a small clearing towards Luboń Wielki near the upper station of the ski lift.
Green trail: Maciejowa - Jasionów - Poręba Górna
From Maciejowa, we descend on the green trail:
After about 30-40 minutes of walking on a wide forest road, we will reach Jasionów.
From there, it's a short walk on the asphalt road (15-20 minutes) and another 15-20 minutes on a dirt road to Poręba Górna.
The road is only for access, calm and scenic!
