The Red Trail from Kubalonka Pass to the PTTK Lodge on Stożek is a forest route, easy to walk, with some interesting spots along the way!

Start of the Trail to Stożek from Kubalonka Pass
Kubalonka Pass is an important place connecting the towns of Wisła and Istebna. There are many attractions here: restaurants, small food stalls, and cross-country skiing trails. You will also find a large paid parking lot and a bus stop called "Istebna Kubalonka."

Red Trail Kubalonka - Stożek Wielki
To get from Kubalonka Pass to Stożek, follow the red signs heading west. Walk past a large tavern-restaurant (Karczma Kubalonka) and then enter the forest.
The first long section of the trail is a fairly flat and comfortable forest road leading to the Beskid peak. The only challenge might be some mud or a bit of boredom. For about 4 km, there are no special views or climbs. The Beskid peak is also unremarkable, even the sign looks "amateurish."

Łączecko Pass
From the Beskid peak, we descend a rather steep path to a wide forest road that leads us to Łączecko Pass.

At Łączecko Pass, we meet the blue trail from Wisła (which also leads to Stożek but goes over the Kiczor and Kyrkawica peaks). Here, we finally get some open space and views to the south and north.

Kiczory and Kyrkawica
Kiczory (990 meters above sea level) and Kyrkawica (978 meters above sea level) are two peaks we will pass on the way from Łączecko Pass to Stożek Wielki. Climbing Kiczory might finally tire us a bit: in less than 2 km, we ascend about 200 meters. But behind us, we leave quite nice views - it's worth stopping occasionally to look back.

At the top of Kiczory, we find a connection with the green trail from Istebna and the border with the Czech Republic. Now we will walk together with the green trail and the Polish-Czech border. This is also the highest point on our route (Kyrkawica and Stożek Wielki are slightly lower).

An additional attraction on Kiczory are the "viewing windows": from here, we can see the upper Wisła valley and our destination: the PTTK Lodge on Stożek Wielki.

Between the peaks of Kiczory and Kyrkawica, there are also interesting rock formations.

Kyrkawica itself is less interesting - no views, and the rocks are smaller and hidden among the trees. From Kyrkawica to the lodge, there is only about 1 km of easy, straightforward, and pleasant road left.

PTTK Lodge on Stożek and Stożek Wielki Peak, 978 meters above sea level
At the lodge, there is a viewpoint to the east - overlooking the Wisła valley, the Wiślańskie Range, and further: the Żywiecki Beskid, and with good visibility, even the Tatra Mountains! It's worth taking a short, unmarked but visible path through the forest above the lodge to reach the peak. Between the trees, a view to the north and west will open up.
