The Black Trail to Pilsko is the most popular route to the summit from Hala Miziowa. Contrary to what you see on the signs near the shelter, it will take you not 30 minutes (unless you run), but rather close to an hour.

Start of the Black Trail at Hala Miziowa

The trail starts on this steep meadow - slope near the Pilsko ski lift:

Most tourists cross this meadow "off the trail" - it will be a difficult climb, as the meadow is really steep! It's better to follow the signs and take the path that leads under the forest to the upper station of the ski lift:

Soon, we will reach the ridge and the Polish-Slovak border. The views from here are stunning!

Further on, the path leads through dwarf mountain pine and although it still ascends, it is much easier than on the meadow near the ski slope.

Soon, we will reach the "first peak", which is the lower summit of Pilsko, located on the Polish-Slovak border. It is called the Mountain of Five Mounds. Besides a small clearing, we will find an information board and next to it a box with a souvenir stamp.

The view of the lower hills is mostly obscured by the dwarf mountain pine, except for a "window" to the Queen of the Beskids: Babia Góra:

The actual summit of Pilsko is located on the Slovak side, and we will reach it in about 10 minutes via a path marked with green signs.

At the top of Pilsko, a wonderful panorama awaits us to the south:

We return to the PTTK Shelter on Hala Miziowa using the same path, or alternatively, the yellow or red trails.
