The Valley of Kamienica Gorcza艅ska in Lubomierz-Rzeki is a beautiful and easy route for a family walk, even with a stroller!
Stroller Walk in the Gorce Mountains
Tired of carrying your little one in a baby carrier on mountain trails? We suggest a trail in the Gorce Mountains where you can go with a stroller, thanks to the quality of the road, which is suitable for larger wheels. Keep in mind that the wide and comfortable road gently ascends uphill, which is different from a walk in the park. However, going downhill will be easier!
Attractions of the Valley of Kamienica Gorcza艅ska
The main attraction of walking along the river valley is the river itself! It is beautiful, wild, and full of rocks.
Additionally, there are numerous side streams flowing into Kamienica, and along the way, you will come across marshes and forest ponds. There will be plenty of opportunities for the fun activity of "throwing stones into the water" ;)
It is worth stopping by the amphibian reservoirs with platforms. Who knows who you might encounter? We only spotted newts.
...and those ducks! We have never seen such a wealth of common mergansers anywhere else!
The real highlight turned out to be the "beaver sculptures"! The kids were thrilled to be able to touch the work of forest engineers!
From the Valley of Kamienica, there are two educational trails: both are green. The shorter one is called "Mountain Alder Bog" and leads through the forest on the eastern slope of the valley. The longer one is called "Trusi贸wka - Podska艂y Glade" and takes you to a scenic glade and the yellow trail to Kud艂o艅. Both trails are for pedestrians only (no strollers or bicycles).
From the Valley of Kamienica to Gorc Troszacki and Kud艂o艅
After about 1.5 hours of walking through the valley, you will reach the intersection with the green trail to Gorc Troszacki and Kud艂o艅. This part of the trail is not suitable for strollers, but if you have the opportunity, we recommend going at least to Polana Stawieniec (a half-hour walk in one direction) to enjoy some mountain views. From Polana Gorc Troszacki, you can already see the Tatra Mountains (about 1 hour hike from the Valley of Kamienica).

From the Valley of Kamienica to Turbacz and Jaworzyna Kamienicka
From the Valley of Kamienica, you can go even further: the red educational trail will take you to Jaworzyna Kamienicka, and if you continue on the blue trail, you will reach Czo艂o Turbacza, the PTTK mountain hut on Turbacz, and the highest peak of the Gorce Mountains. This will be a long hike (about 14 km one way), but it is definitely the gentlest ascent.
Practical Information about the Valley of Kamienica Gorcza艅ska
- The road surface varies: initially asphalt, but later more and more stones. Nonetheless, the road is wide, even, and comfortable. However, if you have a stroller, make sure it has large wheels.
- Along the way, there are numerous benches, and occasionally, there are also tables. For example, there is a clearing near Papie偶贸wka.
- The trail passes through the Gorcza艅ski National Park, so you need to purchase entrance tickets (preferably online).
- Pets are not allowed in the Gorcza艅ski National Park.
- Paid parking lots are available near the blue trail (by the chapel, entrance to the blue trail towards Gorc - we are heading in the opposite direction ;) or closer, right at the border of the Gorcza艅ski National Park, accessible from Road 968 from Rzek towards the hamlets: U Adamczyka/K艂ak/Gabry艣/Go艂dyna/Polana Trusi贸wka
- On the map, we marked only a 5-kilometer section of the blue trail, up to the intersection with the green trail (the distance we covered). However, it seems that you can comfortably continue further into the valley - let us know if you find out how far you can go with a stroller!
