The red trail to Lubomir from Jaworzyce Pass, between Wi艣niowa and W臋gl贸wka, is one of the easiest and shortest routes to Lubomir - the highest peak of the Beskid Makowski. An additional attraction here are the educational boards of the "Great Astronomers - Known and Lesser Known" trail.

Start of the trail to Lubomir from Jaworzyce Pass

At the pass itself, it is difficult to find a place to park and leave your car on the eastern side of the road. You can also turn west on the narrow asphalt road marked with red signs. After about 1 km, you will find a shelter and a small parking lot.

This is also where the "Great Astronomers - Known and Lesser Known" educational trail begins (board no. 1).

Initially, we walk on asphalt, between the buildings of the W臋gl贸wki "Paryl贸wka" hamlet. On the left side, beautiful views open up to the south (unless they are obscured by fog...).

Guesthouse Pod Lubomirem - accommodation and restaurant

Right at the end of the asphalt road, there is a guesthouse and restaurant called "Guesthouse Pod Lubomirem" (note: access and parking only for guesthouse guests!). Next to the guesthouse, there is a playground and a description of the panorama. If you plan to have a meal here, make sure in advance that the restaurant will be open for individual guests (there will be no private event, for example).

From Guesthouse Pod Lubomirem to Lubomir

The second half of the trail is already a forest road. It is wide and comfortable, but still "off-road", stony, and sometimes quite steep: on this approximately 1 km stretch, we overcome an elevation difference of about 200 m. Along the way, the green trail from W臋gl贸wka joins us, and there are more educational boards waiting for us.

Educational Trail "Great Astronomers - Known and Lesser Known"

The educational boards of the trail are an additional attraction of the Lubomir trail. Although the information on them is quite serious and more aimed at "professionals" than average tourists, it is definitely worth stopping by them. Besides, they will certainly help us answer the question "how much further?": the first board is located at the parking lot, and stops no. 7 and 8 await us at the summit.

Lubomir 904 m above sea level - peak and Astronomical Observatory

After about 1.5 hours from the pass (or 1 hour from the parking lot at the shelter), we reach the highest peak of the Beskid Makowski - Lubomir. There are two last educational boards here (stop no. 7 dedicated to Nicolaus Copernicus and no. 8 about the history of the observatory). Moreover, there are resting places, a stamp, and the possibility to visit the observatory.
