This is the main coastal trail of Wolin Island, at the same time, it is the longest and most diverse.

Red trail: the highest Polish cliffs

Its most popular part leads along the beautiful cliff coast - the highest on the Polish coast. The height of the cliffs reaches almost 100 m!

The section between the beach in Międzyzdroje and the beach in Wisełka is almost 9 km, which is at least a 2-hour walk one way.

The main attraction is, of course, the views: beautiful forms and compositions created by nature, wind and water from sand, stones, branches and trunks of falling trees:

It's a pity that walking "down" we won't find information about the cliffs we pass, for example on signs or plaques.

We definitely pass the highest Polish cliff, which is Gosań Hill, but unfortunately, we don't know which one it is exactly...

When going on this hike, don't forget about good footwear - i.e. the kind that will allow us to walk comfortably on the rocky sea shore.

Here we are not only awaited by the great Piast Boulders, but also millions of their smaller relatives.

On the coast, the trail is not marked, but we won't miss the entrance in Wisełka, the first "more populated" after the inconspicuous stairs to the WPN Grodno settlement.

At the entrance to the beach in Wisełka, there is a food point right by the beach.

Red trail on Wolin Island - forest section: Wisełka - Międzywodzie

Between Wisełka and Międzywodzie, the red trail leads us along forest roads (except for a 2 km section along an asphalt road... although a pedestrian-bike path is being built next to it, but in the 2021 season it was not yet fully ready).

Except for the approach to the Kikut lighthouse, the road is beaten, forest - a stroller with large wheels will manage to get through it.

The viewpoint was here unfortunately a very long time ago, when the stone building was just an observation tower. Today, after ...

But there are numerous hills waiting for us: once downhill, once uphill.

Attractions of this section of the trail include the aforementioned Kikut lighthouse and various forests: pine, beech, birch... and also peace and quiet - tourists rarely venture here!

In Wisełka 2 small lakes, 1.5 km behind Międzywodzie: Lake Martwa Dziwna.

This section is a total of about 12 km, which is at least a 3-hour walk one way.

In the forest, the trail is well marked, there are no signs along the asphalt road, but it's hard to get lost here.

Western section of the red trail Świnoujście - Międzyzdroje

Part of the red trail between Świnoujście and Międzyzdroje leads along the southern coast of the island, through small villages: Ognica, Przytór and Łunowo as well as wild areas near Lake Wicko Wielkie. There can be serious problems with markings (e.g. the trail gets lost along the S3 road on the outskirts of Międzyzdroje), and access to "attractions" is also poor - for example, the path to the Viking Oak is completely overgrown.

Almost 18 km, about 5 hours one way, often along the roadside of asphalt roads... apart from "sightseeing" doubtful attractions.

Attention! Remember that most of the red trail runs through the Wolin National Park, which means that all "park" restrictions apply to us, including a ban on bringing dogs.
