Nearby: Ustkawb_sunny Route in the sun
The 'Orzechowska Dune' educational trail is an interesting walking nature trail located in the small village of Orzechowo, about 5 km from Ustka. The route is about 2.8 km and leads us through wooden bridges across a parabolic, partially stabilized dune. Along the route, there are benches, viewpoints and many educational boards. The trail takes about 1.5 hours to complete. Part of the route leading through the dune is mainly in the sun, but there are many places around the trail where you can find shade.
Getting there
You can access the trail from 2 locations:
- Zapad艂e: 3 km from the center of Ustka by the R10 Velo Baltica bike path.
- Orzechowo Morskie: From Ustka, you can either walk along the beach or take the red trail through the pine forest.
You can also easily get to Orzechowo by car, with parking about 850 m from the trail entrance.
Orzechowska Dune
This is one of many dunes that were formed on the southern shore of the Baltic Sea hundreds of years ago by sands thrown out by sea currents and transported inland by wind. It is one of the large dunes reaching a height of 20 m above sea level and a wingspan of about 2 km.
The most beautiful part of the trail is, of course, the section that leads through the dune itself - these are points on the map from 6-13. This is where you will find wooden bridges with stairs and viewpoints.
Pines
The pine is one of the few tree species that can adapt to the extremely difficult conditions of the coastal dunes. Trees here must constantly struggle with strong wind, sun, and moving sand.

Points on the route from 1,2... to 6 are rather parts of the approach/return - this is a narrow, forest path without steps and elevations, partially overgrown. Here you will also find educational boards, for example about ash-pine riparian forests.
You can also return to Orzechowo through the Rycerski Przekop by following the red signs - the path leads along the top of the Rycerski Przekop gorge.
