There are three trails leading from Folusz to the ridge of Magura Wątkowska: we chose the entrance with the easier, green trail (called the Path of the First Day) and the descent with the yellow trail: the shortest and steeper one, but quite comfortable when going up. The main attraction of Magura Wątkowska is undoubtedly the Kornuty Reserve.
Magura Wątkowska and Kornuty from Folusz
The trails start in the Kłopotnica Valley in Folusz. It is best to leave your car at the large forest parking lot on the border of the Magurski National Park.
At first, we walk on an asphalt road, then a beaten path along the Kłopotnica stream.

It is worth paying attention to the ruins of a sawmill that once belonged to the nuns from the Zwierzyniec in Krakow.
After crossing a small bridge, we reach a clearing where the trails diverge.
We chose the green trail: it goes along a wide former forest road, it is well-trodden, shaded, and very comfortable. Initially, it ascends very slowly, and only the final section, a typical Beskid forest path, gives us the feeling that we are actually climbing to the summit.
After about 30-40 minutes of more challenging climbing, we reach the ridge: the first peak is Magura, but it is worth taking a break at the intersection with the red trail: there awaits a small clearing with benches, a shelter, monuments, and above all, a "narrow window", which means a "view" (according to the panorama description: even to the Tatra Mountains - we cannot confirm...)
Next, we continue along a comfortable, wide, flat ridge path. We pass by more peaks: Wątkowa, Magóra Jasielska, and between them, charming moss-covered sandstone boulders (a "foretaste" of the Kornuty Reserve) and perfect as a "forest playground for children"
After passing the intersection with the yellow trail (clearing, benches) into the Kornuty Reserve, we have about 30 minutes left. The reserve is located to the left (south) of the green trail. When we reach the first group of rocks, let's not stop: there are more significant ones waiting a few dozen meters further.

We returned to Folusz via the yellow trail (we had to go back to the intersection) - it was the shortest way. You can also reach the end of the Magura Wątkowska ridge, to the summit of Barwinok, and descend to Folusz via the black trail, but it takes about twice as long as the yellow trail.
In Folusz, there is a large park with a playground and trout fishing spots and fish fry places: one right next to the green trail - we recommend it!
And if you liked the moss-covered rocks, be sure to visit the Devil's Stone Reserve (also in Folusz):
