Hala Kondratowa - trail from Ku藕nice

Hala Kondratowa is a large meadow located at the foot of Giewont in the Kondratowa Valley. It takes about an hour to reach it by following the blue trail from Ku藕nice. The trail is not technically difficult and is suitable for a trip with children. There is a small mountain shelter on Hala Kondratowa - it is the smallest shelter in the Tatra Mountains. From Hala Kondratowa, you can see Suchy Wierch and Goryczkowa Czuba. The blue trail through Hala Kondratowa is the easiest and most popular route to reach Giewont.


How to get to Hala Kondratowa?
The start of the blue trail to Hala Kondratowa is in Ku藕nice, near the lower station of the cable car to Kasprowy Wierch - about 5 km from the center of Zakopane. You can get there by bus - direction Ku藕nice. Initially, head towards Polana Kalat贸wki via Brata Alberta Road. It is a wide, stony road, usually crowded.

The blue trail leading to Hala Kondratowa runs along the bottom of Polana Kalat贸wki - it's up to you whether you want to take a detour to the top of the clearing or just bypass it. From Polana Kalat贸wki, you can see Kasprowy Wierch. You can also see the cable car and its moving carriages.

Hala Kondratowa is a former shepherd's meadow in the Kondratowa Valley - it is located at an altitude of 1333 meters above sea level. The shelter on Hala Kondratowa is the smallest shelter in the Polish Tatras - it has 20 beds.

To Kasprowy Wierch
From Hala Kondratowa, you can climb the ridge of Suche Czuby and walk to Kasprowy Wierch, from where you can take the cable car down to Zakopane. The ridge trail offers amazing views and is quite easy technically - although there were two less comfortable moments on the trail. People with a fear of heights may feel uncomfortable here.

Giewont
From Hala Kondratowa, there is also the easiest trail to the most popular peak in the Tatras - Giewont. Climbing Giewont itself is not easy - near the top, there is a one-way approach with chains. If you are afraid of this, it is worth at least climbing to Kondracka Pass. It offers great views, and the trail leading to it, although physically exhausting, does not pose major technical difficulties.
