A black-marked hiking trail leads from Ojców to Łokietek's Cave. The route is not long, but it needs some effort because you climb about 165 m. Most of the way is an easy forest path, but one section goes up limestone rock steps.
How to get from Ojców to Łokietek's Cave?
From the center of Ojców, you can reach the famous cave known as "Łokietek's Cave" by two routes: the shorter and easier black trail, or the slightly longer and harder blue trail through the Kraków Gate and the scenic Ciasne Skałki Gorge.
You can start the black trail in the center of Ojców, near the car park below Casimir Castle. From there, follow the main road through Ojców to the ponds of the local trout farm and to the rock with a viewpoint, called Jonaszówka.

The black trail goes around the rock, but it is worth taking the narrow path up to the top. From there, you can see a beautiful view of the Prądnik Valley and the old buildings of Ojców.
Please note: the climb to the top of the rock is not easy.
Black trail: Ojców - Łokietek's Cave
From Jonaszówka, return to the black trail by going down the other side of the rock. You will reach a forest cobbled road leading to the historic, but sadly rather neglected, villa called "Pod Berłem". It is one of the oldest buildings in Ojców, dating back to 1885.
Just after the villa, you will find the hardest part of the trail: a fairly steep climb on rock steps. After rain, and also in autumn and winter, this section can be slippery.
When you reach the bend with small rocks, the route becomes much easier. From there, you walk along a comfortable forest path until it joins the blue trail.
From here, there is still a short climb, and soon you will reach the ticket office for the cave. Toilets are nearby, a few dozen meters away on the blue trail towards Czajowice. They are paid toilets. From the ticket office, you can reach the cave in about 5 minutes, still following the black trail.
