The Łokietka Cave is famous for the legend of King Władysław Łokietek hiding inside. Getting to the Łokietka Cave: We can reach it from the Prądnik Valley (blue and black hiking trails - quite steep), or the shortest way - from the side of Czajowice:

In Czajowice, there is a large paid parking lot with a kiosk selling ice cream and drinks. The road from Czajowice to the Łokietka Cave (about 15 minutes) initially runs on asphalt (several dozen meters), then on a wide dirt road through the forest. Attention - bicycles are not allowed in the forest! Only the last few meters of descent to the cave are slightly steeper and rocky - otherwise, the path is suitable for strollers.

At the entrance to the cave, there is a souvenir shop and numerous benches. The toilet (a brick building) is only located at the entrance to the forest from the side of Czajowice.

The cave is visited with a guide, about 30 minutes. The route is very short - 2 large halls and several corridors, most of the time is spent waiting for the whole group to gather. In addition to the characteristic karst formations, we will see elements related to the legend - the "table" and "bed" of Władysław Łokietek. The cave is illuminated, but for the child's comfort, you can equip them with a small flashlight. The temperature inside is only 8 degrees Celsius - remember to wear warm clothing and good shoes (it is wet and can be slippery!). The floor is made of stone, quite even, with some stairs - a 3-year-old child will definitely manage with the help of an adult. Some passages are very narrow, some are low - you will need to bend down, so carrying a child in your arms or in a baby carrier will be very difficult (carrying the baby on your back in a carrier may be impossible at times).

Perhaps due to the legend, or perhaps due to its location near the popular Prądnik Valley, it can get very crowded here on weekends and holidays.... As a result, the tour takes place in a group of several dozen people, which the guide tries to overcome with their voice... Younger children will see little more than the adults' feet, as the adults will be focused on making sure the little ones don't get lost in the crowd and darkness... If we want to show our child not only the legend but also an interesting cave in much quieter conditions, we recommend visiting the nearby Upper Wierzchowska Cave.
