Zakrz贸wek Swimming Area - Floating Pools and Beach

check_circle Outdoors
Little Croatia in the Center of Krakow!
Zakrz贸wek Lake was created by flooding a limestone quarry in 1990. Now, it has a new swimming area. The water here is a beautiful turquoise color, with wide wooden piers and steep limestone rocks around it, making it feel like a Croatian resort.
- Entry to the swimming area is free, but there is a limit on the number of people.
- Getting to the pools with a stroller is not easy; the paths are steep, and the stairs are quite high.
- The swimming area is guarded by a lifeguard from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, 7 days a week during the holiday season until September 3rd.
- Swimming outside the pools in the lake area is at your own risk.
- No pets are allowed in the water in the pool area.
- The swimming area is closed on Mondays (technical day).

Floating Pools at Zakrz贸wek
There are 5 large pools of different depths for both swimmers and non-swimmers: 40 cm with a children's paddling pool, 80 cm, 120 cm, and 350 cm. You can sunbathe on the wide wooden piers, which make it easy to move between the pools.
Facilities: Changing rooms and toilets are located at the top of the quarry, so if you're at the pools and want to use them, you'll need to climb the stairs each time.

Zakrz贸wek Beach
You can also relax and sunbathe by the water at the nearby beach. It's a great alternative if the line for the swimming area is too long - here, entry is unlimited. On the rocky beach, you'll find wooden loungers and a large tree providing shade on hot days.
- There is a wide asphalt path to the beach, convenient for strollers and bikes.
- There is no lifeguarded swimming area here - entering the water is at your own risk.
- If you're going to this beach, it's a good idea to bring flip-flops or water shoes - the entrance to the water is rocky.

Walking Path Around the Quarry
Zakrz贸wek is not just a swimming area! The path around the lake is one of the most scenic walking routes in Krakow. It's worth visiting any time of the year!
Around the lake, you'll find many kilometers of walking paths with benches, swings, and viewpoints of the quarry and Wawel Castle. The lake area also connects with Twardowski Park and Rocks.
