A Little Croatia in the Heart of Krakow!
Zakrzówek Reservoir was created by flooding a limestone quarry in 1990. Now, a new swimming area has been established there. The water here has a unique, turquoise color, and the wide wooden docks and steep limestone cliffs surrounding the reservoir give it a vibe similar to Croatian resorts.
- entry to the swimming area is free, but there is a limit on the number of people
- access to the pools with a stroller is not easy, the ramps are steep and the stairs quite high
- the swimming area is supervised by a lifeguard from 10:00–18:00, 7 days a week during vacation period until September 3
- swimming outside the pools in the reservoir area is at your own risk
- pets are not allowed in the water in the pool area
- on Mondays, the swimming area is closed (maintenance day)

Floating Pools at Zakrzówek
Within the reservoir area, 5 large pools of varying depths have been created for both swimmers and non-swimmers: 40 cm with a paddling pool for children, 80 cm, 120 cm, and 350 cm. You can relax on the wide wooden docks, which facilitate movement between the pools. Keep in mind that if you want to use the sanitary facilities: changing rooms, toilets, you will need to climb stairs each time.
Zakrzówek Beach
A rocky beach, with no lifeguard supervision, is located near the swimming area. There will be a local cafe, with covered tables almost at the water's edge. There is a wide asphalt descent to the beach, convenient for strollers and bicycles.
Walking Path Around the Quarry
Around the quarry, there's a network of walking paths with rest areas, loungers, swings, and viewpoints. Although the paths are wide, they are rocky and not accessible for strollers.
Twardowski Rocks Nature Reserve
For more tranquility and kilometers of shaded paths, including asphalt paths accessible for strollers and bicycles, visit the quarry on the other side of the swimming area. There you will find a vast green area - the Twardowski Rocks Nature Reserve, along with a beautiful viewpoint towards Wawel and the center of Krakow.
