Cycling is a fantastic way to reach Zakrzowek Beach - you can ride right up to the beach without worrying about parking spaces (although on weekends the bike racks at the beach are also packed... Zakrzowek is located near the Vistula embankments, making it easy to get here by bike from various parts of Krakow. A peaceful, forested Twardowski Park separates the beach from the bike path on the embankment:
- although the park's paths are asphalt, the terrain is hilly - there are climbs and descents, which might be difficult for younger, beginner cyclists
- the route from the Vistula embankments to Zakrzowek entirely leads through park paths away from car traffic, making it safe for children
- you can also get here by MPK bus - Twardowski Rocks Park stop is served by lines 112, 162, 612, from here it's about a 45-minute forest walk to the beach
Park entrance
The initial moment of entering the park is the most challenging - it's a steep climb on cobblestones. Luckily, it ends quickly. Once we get to the top, the path becomes asphalt - although the park's paths are old and the asphalt is full of holes and bumps, it's still a safe path away from cars.
Twardowski Rocks Park
The park is quite large - you'll find extensive meadows with benches and picnic shelters, miles of forest paths for walking, and plenty of shade if the hot sun tires you out. The park is home to numerous rocks, caves and grottoes - including Twardowski Cave, one of the longest caves of the Krakow-Czestochowa Upland, about half a kilometer long.

Elvis Presley Stone
At the Elvis Presley Stone, remember not to continue straight down the avenue but turn right onto the parallel, asphalt promenade - you'll reach the beach via Zielna, Selezjanska and Wylom avenues.
At the entrance to the beach area, you'll find bike racks. There are also food trucks, an ice cream parlor, and a cafe here.
Zakrzowek Beach
Zakrzowek Reservoir was created by flooding a limestone quarry in 1990. A new beach has since been established here. The water here has a unique, turquoise color, and the wide wooden piers and steep, limestone cliffs surrounding the reservoir give the place an atmosphere reminiscent of Croatian resorts. You enter the beach through gates and descend the stairs.
