Park by the Nowa Huta Reservoir is a green oasis, designed as a recreational area separating the industrial complex from residential neighborhoods. Today, it is a piece of nature in a big city where everyone can find something for themselves: walking paths, playgrounds, sports fields, water sports equipment rentals, a saltwater inhalation facility, a mini beach, two food truck settlements, and picnic meadows.
Strolling by the reservoir is also an opportunity to learn interesting facts about the district's history - pay attention to the numerous plaques behind the photos:
Nowa Huta Reservoir - water fun
The park "by the reservoir" wouldn't exist without the reservoir! The Nowa Huta Reservoir is an artificial body of water fed by the nearby D艂ubnia River. Those interested can rent water bikes and kayaks, paddle to a wild island, and enjoy the park from the water.
The water is complemented by numerous fountains - illuminated in different colors at night.
Park by the Nowa Huta Reservoir - saltwater inhalation facility
Saltwater inhalation facilities are a new and interesting feature in many modern parks. It is said that a several-hour walk around the facility has the same effect on our respiratory system as several days by the sea. It's worth a try!
Urban Beach by the Nowa Huta Reservoir
At the Nowa Huta Reservoir, you can also spread a blanket or lie on a beach chair on the sand and feel like you're on a real beach. Two sand-filled platforms can be found near the saltwater inhalation facility.
Park by the Nowa Huta Reservoir - playgrounds, sports fields
The Park by the Nowa Huta Reservoir features a large, fenced playground.
A little further, there is also a smaller wooden obstacle course and even a fenced dog park.
In addition, there are several fields for various team sports. When you get tired of playing, you can grab a bite to eat at numerous food trucks (offering various fast food dishes and ice cream).
We invite you to visit the Nowa Huta Reservoir!
Nowa Huta Reservoir - getting there
You can easily reach the Park by the Nowa Huta Reservoir by public transport (MPK Bulwarowa stop), but also by bike! Just get to the Vistula river embankments and follow them all the way to the Wanda Bridge. From there, head towards Zag艂oby Street, Otm臋towa Street, and then directly to Klasztorna Street and Bulwarowa Street (or take a longer but more comfortable route along the Nowohuckie Meadows to the NCK and a convenient bike path along Jana Paw艂a II Avenue and Bulwarowa Street).
