The extraordinary, legendary rock nature reserve in Folusz. A picturesque group of moss-covered rocks that truly stimulates the imagination! (see more photos below)
Legend of the Devil's Stone
According to legend, the devils from Kornuty threw these stones here, intending to drop them on the emerging church in Cieklin. However, the boulders turned out to be too heavy, so at dawn, the devils threw them into the forest and fled to their hiding place in the Kornuty caves.
How to get to the Devil's Stone Reserve?
Follow the black trail (from the forest parking lot at the border of the Magurski National Park, near the yellow, black, and green trails). The black trail turns right at the parking lot and enters the forest through a small bridge over Kłopotnica. The path climbs uphill, and in the final section (after leaving the black trail), it becomes quite steep. After about 20 minutes, it will lead us to the rocks.
If you prefer a more gentle route, you can reach the Folusz nature trail from the Magurski Waterfall, walking through the forest slopes for about 40 minutes.
Visiting the Devil's Stone Reserve
The boulders are fenced off, and we can walk around them on a narrow path, but climbing on them is not allowed. For those interested in climbing, we recommend nearby sandstone boulders on the ridge of Magura Wątkowska and the Kornuty Reserve.
Therefore, it is worth observing the stone-plant compositions and searching for interesting shapes, giving them unique names. Here are our discoveries:
While at the Devil's Stone, it is worth continuing along the Folusz nature trail to the Magurski Waterfall:
