Lanckorona - attractions and sightseeing

Lanckorona is one of the most picturesque places near Krakow (about 30 km from the city center). The attractions of the town include a charming Market Square with historic wooden buildings, ruins of a castle on Lanckorońska Hill, a Regional Museum, and atmospheric cafes and restaurants.

How to get to Lanckorona

From Krakow, you can get here by bus (about 1-1.5 hours), or by train (PKP Kalwaria Zebrzydowska Lanckorona). From the PKP station to Lanckorona, there is a blue trail: 4 km, about 1.5 hours walk through country roads, fields and forest. Those with cars can drive right into the market square (there is no designated parking, so you'll have to leave your car in the square or on side streets).

Touring the castle ruins in Lanckorona

The Piast fortress was located on a hill above the town. Today - it's just picturesque ruins. You can get there from the Market Square via St. John's Street and Podzamcze. Near the ruins, there is a forest with numerous walking trails.
