When robbers took up residence in the abandoned castle, the local devil was pleased, seeing them as his partners in spreading evil in the world. Oh, how wrong he was! People, both residents of Lanckorona and merchants passing through the town, began to pray more often, becoming more devout as they asked God to protect them from the robbers' attacks. As a result, fewer souls were going to hell. The devil decided to get rid of the robbers from Lanckorona Mountain. He took a pebble from his hoof and rolled it towards the robbers. The stone grew in size - when it fell on the robbers of Lanckorona, it was a huge boulder, the robbers didn't stand a chance... It's said that you can still find this boulder in one of the forest ravines of Lanckorona Mountain.
