Zwierzyniec

Zwierzyniec, the capital of Roztocze, is named for a good reason - did you know that this is where you have the chance to see wild Polish horses living by the stream overflow, visit ground squirrel reserves and Bilgoraj horses, peek into the Zamosc zoo, and even see animal monuments: a beetle and a beaver? Zwierzyniec is a small town located in the heart of Roztocze, near Zamosc. It's an excellent base for accommodation and excursions to nearby trails - especially for those without a car. The town has a recreational park "Zwierzyńczyk", where you'll find a church on the water. A footpath from the park leads to the region's biggest attraction - the "Stawy Echo" bathing site.

Zamość

Located about 30 km from Roztocze, the small town of Zamość is considered one of the most beautiful in Poland! This is due to its unique Old Town, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Zamość, as the name suggests, was founded by Jan Zamoyski, and it was his private city-fortress, embodying the plan of an ideal city. The town was a modern fortress, a center of education and science. Its layout was based on Italian urban theory, and in the times of the First Republic, it was called the "Padua of the North". The oldest Renaissance part of Zamość, largely preserved to this day, is small. The Great Market Square was the city's central point. The Armenian houses are noteworthy, among which the best preserved and richest in terms of decoration is the so-called "Under the Angel" house - its interior hides original beam ceilings, wall polychromes, and a unique stone sculpture framing of windows.
