Zbor贸w Mountain Reserve is one of the most beautiful corners of the Krak贸w-Cz臋stochowa Upland and a place definitely worth seeing! Picturesque stone paths, tall limestone outcrops, breathtaking views of the surroundings, and caves - including the only one in the Silesian province available for guided tours, the G艂臋boka Cave.

  • the paths on Zbor贸w Mountain are rocky, stony, terrain - it's worth wearing mountain shoes
  • part of the route runs in the shade of trees
  • parking under the Center of Heritage and Culture of the Upland
  • two trails lead us through the reserve: black and red, which meet at the top and together form a sightseeing loop

There are really a lot of trodden paths in the reserve - the described trail can be treated as Ariadne's thread leading us through the heart of the Zbor贸w Mountain (467m), from which we will approach the rocks and viewpoints.

Getting there and start of the route

We start the adventure under the "Center of Natural and Cultural Heritage of the Upland" - here is a larger parking lot and a cash desk where we can buy tickets to the G艂臋boka Cave located on the route. Cave entrances take place on the hour from the center building - here we put on helmets and set off to the nearby cave.

Deep Cave

The Deep Cave is located in the Zbor贸w Mountain Reserve in the small town of Podlesice and is the only cave available for tourist visits in the Silesian province. ...

Initially, the route leads us along the black trail on a wide, gravel path. Right at the beginning, there is a turn to the G艂臋boka Cave. If we don't want to visit the cave, we continue straight ahead.

The further part of the trail leads through the forest, in the shade of trees - the path is wide and shaded. However, it will gradually start to go deeper into the forest, become narrower and climb uphill, more and more resembling a mountain trail.

Top of Zbor贸w Mountain

The trail bypasses the top, but although the path is quite steep and rocky, it's worth climbing - the view is very scenic! On a clear day, we should see three castles from here: in Ogrodzieniec, Mirow, and Bobolice.

The top of the hill is a grassy, scenic meadow perfect for a family rest.

Descent from the top

We descend the red trail, on the other side of the slope. Here the paths are rocky and stony - the red trail is also the shortest road to Zbor贸w Mountain from the street side and if you don't want to visit the cave, or make a loop, it will be a nice option to get to the hill.

After descending, looking back, we can see the entire massif of Zbor贸w Mountain, through which we have just passed. Composed of rocky outcrops, it looks beautiful in the rays of the setting sun. From here, we reach the Center of Heritage and Culture of the Upland by walking a bit along the sidewalk along the street.
