The easiest and one of the most popular routes to the PTTK Leskowiec shelter is the so-called White Hearts Trail from Rzyk-Jag贸dki. On this route, we will not encounter major difficulties, and although we are walking uphill, the path is quite wide and without long steep ascents.
From Rzyk - Jag贸dki to Leskowiec
When starting the hike to Leskowiec from Rzyk-Jag贸dki, we have three trails to choose from: the fastest black trail bypasses the shelter and will lead us to W艂adys艂aw Miodowicz Pass in less than 1.5 hours, from where we can reach the scenic meadow at the top in about 15 minutes. The blue trail takes us longer on asphalt, through the Kopry housing estate, then through the forest to Gancarz Pass, to the shelter (1.5 hours) and to the summit of Leskowiec (1 hour 50 minutes).
To Leskowiec on the White Hearts Trail
For the least experienced hikers, including families with children, we recommend choosing the White Hearts Trail. The youngest ones will be delighted with the unique trail markings - the only one of its kind in Poland!
Initially, we will gently ascend along the Wieprz贸wka stream:
Later, by crossing several black trails with wide bends, we will reach the ridge, where we will connect with trails from Inwa艂d and Ponikwa.
Just before the shelter, we will turn left to peacefully traverse the steep ascent.
Leskowiec in Winter
We also recommend the White Hearts Trail in winter. Despite avoiding the steepest ascents, do not forget about the appropriate equipment, including crampons! Packed snow can be very slippery, and it is possible that you will also encounter icy sections along the way!
In winter, you can also bring lightweight sleds and use them on flat sections or clearings (e.g., at the summit). Attention! Do not sled on the trail! Firstly, it can be a danger to other hikers, and secondly, the path made slippery by sleds will be even more dangerous for pedestrians! What else should you remember when going to the mountains in winter?
Shelter and Summit of Leskowiec
The PTTK shelter is located at the summit called Gro艅 Jana Paw艂a II - here you can rest, have a meal, warm up, and use the toilet. However, during "lunchtime," it can get crowded, and you may have to wait in a long queue at the bar...
The path from the shelter to the summit of Leskowiec is easy, wide, and with a slight incline (about 15-20 minutes one way). Here, a vast scenic meadow awaits us - on a clear day, you can enjoy a panorama with the queen of the Beskids, Babia G贸ra, as the main attraction!
