The Royal Route is a prestigious road that leads from the Royal Castle all the way to Wilanow. This was the path the king would take when traveling to his summer residence in the Royal Baths Park or in Wilanow. The most representative part of the route includes the streets of Krakowskie Przedmiescie, Nowy Swiat and Aleje Ujazdowskie. It's worth spreading your visit to the Royal Route over two, or even three days: on the first day, see the Old Town along with the main artery of the route, on the second day the Royal Baths Park, and on the third day the Wilanow Palace.
Royal Castle
This is the former residence of Polish kings. Here, you can see their chambers, the representative rooms where they lived. Near the Royal Castle, you'll find the column of King Sigismund III Vasa. It was he who, after a fire at Wawel Castle, decided to move his residence to Warsaw, thereby making Warsaw the most important city in the country.
Krakowskie Przedmiescie
In old times, this is where the city ended! What used to be the suburbs is now right in the heart of the capital. Krakowskie Przedmiescie is one of the most elegant streets. Many important buildings stand here, including the Presidential Palace, which is the residence of the President of the Republic of Poland.
Aleje Ujazdowskie
Along this avenue is the historic and well-maintained Ujazdowski Park with shaded paths and perhaps... the largest playground in Poland! We haven't measured it, but the playground is indeed very unique, great for older kids and teenagers. There are many nooks, bridges, and hideouts. The downside is that it can be hard to keep an eye on your child, especially if they're younger.
