The trail through the valley of the non-existing village of Świerzowa Ruska begins in Świątkowa Wielka, at the end of the road (no traffic allowed, parking on the side of the road). The nature and culture trail is 4 km long, with a gentle slope, and it takes about 2-3 hours to walk it in both directions. The trail consists of 8 stops (links to descriptions below).

In principle, it is suitable for walking with a stroller with large wheels or cycling, although the paved road is not perfectly smooth and can get muddy after rain. Sometimes, to reach the bridges (there are several along the way), you have to take a narrower and steeper path. A straight and wide road leads through fords, straight through the stream.

At the very beginning of the trail, there is an information board about the former village and a overgrown sign - look for it on a roadside tree!

Along the way, it is worth visiting the old cemetery and the Orthodox church (here, leave your bike or stroller by the road and walk up the narrow path).

At the end, you will find Majdan meadow and a wooden shelter.

From the meadow, you can also take a wide forest road to Majdan Pass (about 10-15 minutes). Here, you will find a junction of trails: you can descend to Bartne on the yellow trail (wide road), climb Magura on the red trail, or "wade through" the red "pseudo-trail" to the PTTK Shelter in Bartne (find out why we discourage this choice HERE).

Right at the entrance, there is the Pod Mareszką trout fishery - delicious fish fried and baked in various ways, as well as other lunch dishes. It's worth taking a rest here after the hike!

PS. Nearby, in Świątkowa, there is a beautiful "painted church". Did you know that in the past, most wooden churches were decorated so colorfully?
