Segiet Reserve - trail from Sucha G贸ra to the Historic Silver Mine
The Segiet Nature Reserve is located on Silver Mountain, between Bytom and Tarnowskie G贸ry. The trail leads us through a 150-year-old forest complex, mainly beech. Interestingly, the beech trees here reach a height of about 35-40 m! The height of the trees really impressed us. Due to the complex system of underground shafts and tunnels in the reserve, it is the largest gathering place for hibernating bats.
The Segiet Reserve has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the Lead, Silver and Zinc Ore Mine.
Walking through the reserve is a great idea for a hiking trip to the Historic Silver Mine or a walk after visiting. The easiest way to get to the reserve is by narrow-gauge railway and get off at the Bytom - Sucha G贸ra station.
Segiet Reserve - blue trail
The blue trail leads us through the reserve towards the mine. This is a forest, wide, off-road path - suitable for a walk or a bike ride, preferably with teenagers - due to the climbs and off-road nature, it may be difficult for younger children to cycle.
After leaving the reserve, we see cultivated fields, meadows and a peaceful, rural landscape. It's quiet and peaceful here.
Mining Heap
On the right side, we will see a mining heap, which we can approach. There are scenic paths and benches on the heap.
Historic Silver Mine
Walking along the country roads, we soon reach buildings and the street named Szcz臋艣膰 Bo偶e, where the mine is located.
