Raclawka Valley - how to get there?

Raclawka Valley is a peaceful, forest walking trail suitable for strollers or bicycles. The length of the valley itself is just under 3 km. Parking is available right at the entrance to the forest, marked by a green trail, on the border of the towns of Dubie and Żary. Unfortunately, it is difficult to reach this area using suburban public transport. The closest option (1.5 km to the valley) is to take bus line 278 from Bronowice Małe to the Radwanowice Krzeszowicka NŻ stop.

Raclawka Valley with strollers and bicycles

The forest path is quite wide, even, and firm, running alongside the Racławka stream. Along the way, there are several bridges and access points to the water. On a warm day, you can dip your feet in the stream and throw stones and sticks - always fun! The entire path is shaded by trees, with occasional glimpses of rocks on the sides of the valley. Most of the trail can be easily traversed with a stroller or bicycle, although it gets more challenging the further you go. The most difficult section is the final stretch, where the path descends to the stream and leads along large rocks.

Raclawka Valley - educational trail

The entire valley is covered by an educational trail (marked with blue diagonal signs), consisting of 13 stops with informational boards. Along the way, there are several benches for resting.

Stradlina Gorge

Our favorite place in the Racławki reserve is Stradlina Gorge - it turns out that a dry, rocky gorge with intermittent water flow is the best forest playground! Impressed by the gorge, we followed the yellow trail uphill, hoping to reach the 13th station of the educational trail, where interesting sandstone formations were supposed to be found. Although we quickly found the blue markings and completed the entire loop, we did not come across the sandstone formations... Now we know that we should have turned not on the yellow trail along Stradlina Gorge, but on the path on the other side of the gorge.

Raclawka Valley from Paczółtowice

You can also enter the valley from the northern side, but the location is not well marked (only a sign for agrotourism along the road), and there is space for only 2-3 cars in a small, wild parking area. Another great advantage of entering from the south is Park Dubie.

Trout Valley

After exploring Racławka Valley, you can relax in the nearby park called Trout Valley, which is located close to the parking area and the entrance to Racławka Valley. There you will find a large playground, a place for a bonfire, and well-kept grass for a family picnic by the stream, especially enjoyable in the summer.

Trail Map

The map above shows only the green trail that leads to the valley and the yellow trail that ascends through Stradlina Gorge. The layout of the blue educational trail, including the loop (note: this section is poorly marked in the field), can be seen in the picture.

Although it may seem on this plan that the entire loop is in the forest and does not reach the village or cross the stream, our signs led us to a meadow beyond the forest, then disappeared. Only when we reached the dirt road, then the asphalt road, and finally a side road, did the signs reappear... To summarize: if you want to visit stop number 13, the "Middle Jurassic Sediments Exposure," take the path near the Bażan Spring (not the yellow trail near the gorge!) and return the same way to Racławka Valley after finding the sandstone formations.
