Walking through the Wisłoka Valley in the former village of Nieznajowa is an easy, short excursion along a wide paved road that is also accessible for strollers or bicycles. Interestingly, it runs along the border of the Małopolska and Podkarpackie voivodeships.
We need to leave the car on road 992 (Świątkowa - Ożenna), just after the turn towards Nieznajowa. A few meters from the exit, there is already a traffic ban sign, and a few cars can fit on the roadside.
The road leads through a wide, open valley with a view of the surrounding hills: Uherec to the north, Feszowka to the south, Żydówka to the west, and Cyrla to the east. The path has a minimal incline (about 60 m over the entire length).
Along the way, we will pass by a damaged information board about Nieznajowa (with a commemorative stamp), a roadside chapel, and a Lemko cross.
The Wisłoka River flows hidden at a certain distance from the road: we will only see it at the beginning and end of the trip when we reach the yellow trail. Here, we can turn back, go through numerous fords to the south towards Radocyna and the sources of the Wisłoka (about 5 km), or to the north, along the Zawoja stream towards Wołosaty (also about 5 km, also crossing several fords).
P.S. The cottage in Nieznajowa is an accommodation option. We should bring all the provisions for the hike with us.
